Pete McMahon (Blues Harp & Vocals)

Pete started out playing music in the late 1970s in Syracuse, NY, with Don Zogg, Otis Lee Blues, and Frank Corso. He went on to form The Kingsnakes with Kelly James in 1982. The Kingsnakes gained national acclaim and went on to back legendary bluesman John Lee Hooker for four years touring the eastern half of North America 1987-1991. Pete later joined Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown for five years and toured internationally. Pete is in the Sammys Hall of Fame and the New York State Blues Hall of Fame.

 

Alex Becerra (Guitar, & Vocals)

Alex began performing professionally as a singer/guitarist at the age of 17. Since then he has performed with many bands in Central NY, most notably with Andrea Miceli and Moss. Alex also performed in the Boston area with the band Major Shock, opening for acts such as Living Colour. His previous recordings include his solo CD “Burden of Truth” and his Christmas song "Reason for the Day", which has received regular radio airplay during the holiday season.

Paul Becerra (Guitar & Vocals)

The youngest of the brothers, Paul picked up on what his bros were laying down at an early age. He began playing in his first band at age15, and by age 21 he had written and recorded his first album with his group Descendant. He is known for his lead guitar work with one of Central NY’s most popular cover bands, The Mere Mortals, and has also performed solo as a singer/songwriter.

 

Juan Becerra (Guitar & Vocals)

Juan was drawn to blues music at the age of ten, when he picked up his first guitar. He started playing in bands at the age of thirteen, exploring jazz and rock (including Latino & alternative), and has recently come full circle back to a blues core. He is currently active in the capital region of New York with his band Memphis Moon and in Central NY with his brothers Becerra in Tangled Roots.
 

Chris Colabello (Bass)

Chris has been a long-standing working musician in the Central New York region. Chris has performed with Karen Savoca and Pete Heitzman, Atlas, Paulie Cera, Ronnie Leigh, and so many great musicians in the area.  Chris is currently regularly making music in a guitar-bass duo with Rick Balestra, working with David Donley in the Latin Groove Connection, and excited to be creating a new “rhythm alliance” with drummer Liz Strodel in Tangled Roots.

 

Liz Strodel (Drums)

Liz has been playing in the Central New York area since 2001. She prides herself on backing artists of all different genres and stays busy with both live and studio performances. Liz wrote and released an EP of original songs entitled “Nights & Weekends”.
